context
Giesinger Bräu, a Munich brewery known for being innovative and playful, aimed to create a single app combining internal tools and a consumer experience. The project reimagined the internal tablet app for investor payouts with improved UX and additional features, while creating a consumer mode for investors and beer fans to track dividends, explore the brand, access the loyalty program, and the webshop. The work involved conceptualising both app modes and creating a modern, lively, on-brand design system from scratch.
responsibilities
Led UX/UI design, shaping the product vision from user insights to seamless, intuitive experiences
Defined architecture, navigation, and concepts for both consumer and investor app modes
Designed a scalable, accessible design system unifying web and app visuals across products and devices
Collaborated with agencies, developers, and stakeholders to align decisions and drive design consistency
look & feel and design system
The goal was to create a modern look & feel that appeals to a younger audience while staying true to the brand. The starting point included an outdated website design, initial website mockups from the agency, and an early, non-accessible app design. The challenge was to unify these elements into a cohesive, fresh, and accessible design system—modern, on-brand, and future-proof.
approach
Collaborated with the client and agency to audit existing designs and provide accessibility feedback
Introduced dark mode as a core design element, inspired by the website’s light and dark sections
Explored visual directions to unify the look & feel, emphasising accessibility, scalability, and a playful brand personality
Designed a modular component system compatible with Flutter, including design tokens for iPhone, iPad, and dark mode, resulting in a branded consumer mode and a functional investor mode
investment management
The goal was to expand the internal Investment App, rework its UX, improve accessibility, and make it available to both employees and investors. This required merging it with the consumer app, creating a unified product with two modes based on user type.

approach
Defined requirements, features, and user groups with the client
Designed the app architecture, integrating both modes via role-based login
Created detailed wireframes starting from smartphone layouts and adapting to iPad patterns
Delivered full UI design within two weeks, including phone, tablet, dark mode, and state variations
Built an interactive prototype to support communication and collaboration
Enhanced core user flows to increase clarity, efficiency, and reduce friction
impact
Delivered a design system and visual direction reflecting Giesinger’s fresh, playful identity
Created a scalable, accessible foundation for future digital products
Redesigned the internal app to enhance usability and clarity, receiving strong client praise
Defined consumer app concepts and designs, providing a clear path for implementation
